The Bible
The Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and therefore totally trustworthy. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-20)
God
God is the creator of all things. He is an eternal spirit and the only true God, perfectly loving and perfectly just. (Isaiah 43:10-11; 44:6–8)
People
All people were created in the image of God, but having fallen into sin, we deserve the judgment of death. (Romans 3:23; John 3:36)
Jesus
Jesus is God’s only begotten Son, fully God and fully man. He died sacrificially on the cross and rose from the grave to redeem people from their sins. (John 1:1-2, 18; Hebrews 1:8)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit, being equal to Father and the Son and of the same nature, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and He indwells believers, empowering them for service and sealing them for the day of redemption.
We believe that the phenomenal sign gifts (i.e. tongues, healing) terminated with the completion of the writing of Scripture. (1 Corinthians 13:8; John 14:16; John 16:13-14; Romans 8:9)
Salvation
Only the death of Christ is sufficient to meet God’s just demands, and the benefits of His death are given to those who believe. Thus, salvation–being saved from sin and death–is a result of faith alone, not any work the person may do.
After becoming a believer, a true Christian is urged to live a life that is please to God as a result of becoming a new person in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:10)
Hell
Those who refuse God’s gift of eternal life will rightly suffer an eternal punishment. (Romans 6:23, Revelation 21:8)
